Lavender Salt Bath Health Benefits

If you are looking for a quick, non-pharmaceutical solution for muscle and joint pain, many people are proponents of an Epsom salt soak.  Originally found in mineral spring waters in Epsom, England, these salts have been used for hundreds of years to ease a number of symptoms just by taking a nice hot bath augmented with the magnesium sulfate crystals.  Here a few possible remedies mentioned on WebMD:

  • Arthritis pain and swelling
  • Bruises and sprains
  • Fibromyalgia, a condition that makes your muscles, ligaments, and tendons hurt, and causes tender points throughout your body
  • Ingrown toenails
  • Insomnia
  • Psoriasis, a disease that causes red, itchy, scaly skin
  • Sore muscles after working out
  • Soreness from diarrhea during chemotherapy
  • Sunburn pain and redness
  • Tired, swollen feet

While a simple salt soak is wonderful on its own,the addition of our lavender essential oil to the salts will increase the relaxation by adding the aroma therapy effects of lavender.  Using salts infused with Monte-Bellaria organic lavender essential oil will include many healthful skin and add anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.  Use two cap fulls (1/2 cup) for a bath soak.

In addition to a full bath, try using a hand or foot soak using one cap full (1/4 cup) of our organic lavender therapeutic bath sales, and 1 gallon of very warm (but not over 100° F!) water.  This is particularly soothing for sore hands, feet and associated joints.

While most people can use up to two soaks per day, if you have known health issues or red, dry skin check with your doctor first.
